Sexual Exploitation of girls, boys, teenagers, men, and women is a recognized problem worldwide, and Costa Rica is not the exception.

In 2003, Costa Rica began the Project Code of Conduct for protection against commercial sexual exploitation in travel and tourism. This project is a tourism industry sponsored by Paniamor Foundation, Costa Rican Association of Tourism Operators (ACOT), Costa Rican Association of Tourism Professionals (ACOPROT), Costa Rican Tourism Institute, and 428 more companies that have come together to combat these practices.

The objective of the Code of Conduct is to eradicate, discourage and punish commercial sexual exploitation for creating responsible and sustainable tourism.

Toyota Rent a Car are committed to this fight, for which we have a zero-tolerance policy with our clients and staff against sexual exploitation. We respect the Code of Conduct and Law No. 7899 against Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children's. Our staff has regular training for the prevention, detection, and reporting of cases of Sexual Exploitation that may occur inside and outside our facilities.

If you know or suspect a situation of Sexual Exploitation, we urge you to report it to 9-1-1.
